Story

Gavann Garden Farm is a small nursery and market garden on 2 acres in Jilliby.

What started as a bare, compacted clay, west facing hill with a half-finished house, has slowly transformed into a productive mini farm with many examples of the different ways you can grow food and re-purpose materials around the garden.

We have lots to see including chickens, enclosed veggie gardens, a mini orchard, glasshouse, nursery, composting systems and native gardens complete with a feature pond and waterfall for the frogs and birds.

Since we last opened for the trail, we have upgraded our compost system to be able to hold 36 cubic metres of compost in varying stages of the creation process at any one time. We have also been busy adding growing pumpkins to our farm – 100 square metres of them.

Eggs and seedlings will be available at our farmgate stall over the weekend while stocks last.

Safety

There is parking on site, if we are full and you are parking outside the gates, please ensure your vehicle is completely off the road for the safety of visitors and passing traffic. We have an entry and exit gate that will be sign-posted to avoid the need for reversing out of the driveway, and check-in will be at the entry gate. We also have an un-covered pond in the native garden, so please be aware of this and keep little ones in sight when touring the garden.
