Story
Weeping Willow Farm is a sustainable micro-flower and edible produce farm nestled on 2.5 acres in Palmdale. We cultivate a diverse range of organic flowers, fruit trees, vegetables, and herbs, all grown with permaculture principles in mind. Our seasonal flowers are available for special occasions, cafes, businesses, and the general public. Throughout the year, we also host “pick-your-own” flower events and engaging workshops.
Our farm utilizes intensive planting methods to maximize space and yield. What began just four years ago as a compacted, barren plot—previously used for horses, prone to flooding, and plagued by waterlogged areas—has since blossomed into a flourishing micro-farm. Today, it showcases a variety of sustainable farming methods, combining permaculture practices with time-tested, traditional techniques.
We’re excited to share our expansive cut flower fields, thriving vegetable gardens, mini orchards, emerging food forest, native garden, composting systems, and worm farms. A beautiful feature dam runs across the property, attracting frogs, turtles, and birds, enriching the biodiversity. Keep an eye out for banana circle, nurse trees, beneficial plantings, and our bush regeneration efforts to support native wildlife.
Our journey with permaculture is a continual process of growth and learning. Over time, we’ve enriched our soil using homemade compost, green manures, chicken manure from our friendly flock, and nutrient-rich worm compost. Mulching is key to managing flood-prone areas, improving soil health, and raising plant beds to better withstand floods. While it’s a gradual effort, the results speak for themselves. We frequently use techniques like chop-and-drop, sheet mulching, and no-dig methods to enhance soil fertility and structure. Our plants are protected from pests with natural deterrents such as chili and garlic sprays, and we nourish them with liquid fertilizers made from comfrey and garden weeds.
Water conservation is another priority for us. We capture rainwater in multiple tanks, using it to irrigate our gardens sustainably. Our food forest is steadily growing, with a diverse array of tropical fruit and nut trees surrounded by herb and vegetable guilds.
Visitors to our farm will discover a rich variety of elements to explore, including sheet mulching, hügelkultur beds, beehive, composting and worm farming, free-range chickens, rare vegetables, medicinal plants, and exotic tropical fruit trees.
Farm-fresh cut flowers, cacti, and seedlings will be available for purchase at our farmgate stall over the weekend (while supplies last). We’ll also be offering “pick-your-own” flower sessions in the mornings and evenings on both days, along with possible floral workshops. Be sure to check out our Facebook and Instagram pages for the latest updates!
