John’s Productive Patch: Raised Beds, Citrus & Smart Design

John and Megan are currently completing their energy efficient Hemp House. However, John has already begun gardening. John is an experienced compost creator and garden designer and has built many half a dozen raised beds using recycled materials at his new home. He has filled them with his own nutritious compost and planted a range of annual and perennial vegetables. These cleverly designed beds are built to capture sun and will be used in a rotation system for full production. He has also planted a Citrus grove and other fruit trees.

John’s garden is a perfect example of the Permaculture Principles of Energy Cycling and Relative Location.
