Start Your Own Trail

Has the edible gardening trail bug bitten?

Thinking about creating one in your area?

Starting your own Edible Garden Trail is easy, inexpensive and the returns are immense. There is really no better way to encourage others to grow food naturally; to build soil, food security and community!

You don’t need a website to get started. We began with a Facebook page and our local permaculture group ready to support us through

  • insurance coverage (probably the most important thing),
  • some digital infrastructure (Humanitix and Mailchimp accounts – note that these are free platforms) and
  • a community of members and Facebook followers to help spread the word and lend a hand to make signs, stencils and bunting for our host gardens.

Many of our garden hosts belonged to Permaculture Central Coast too.

The first Edible Garden Trail took place in 2018 in the NSW Blue Mountains. The brainchild of Susanne Rix, this wonderful initiative has grown into a movement with new Edible Garden Trails popping up all over Australia. Susanne shares some valuable tips on creating your own trail.
